Charlie Favour grew up around the ranches and rodeos of Prescott, Arizona. With this Southwestern ranch background, it was natural that he would develop an interest in leatherwork, especially braiding and plaiting. In 1970 he combined his interests in leatherwork and Native American art and opened a gallery in Aspen, Colorado. He quickly became a well known figure in Southwestern jewelry circles. Now, back home in Arizona, Charlie continues to make his popular signature leather cuff bracelets as well as other pieces in inlaid turquoise and other traditional materials
