Ananda Khalsa began her professional jewelry career by mounting her own tiny Asian-inspired paintings in sterling silver and gold settings. Various plant and animal images were intended to instill a quiet grace in each piece. The next step in her jewelry-making was to work with a variety of gems, mounted in her by-now signature metal work. Ananda says, "It is my hope to create jewelry with clean lines and simple elegance while maintaining evidence of the human hand". A simple statement that succinctly expresses the best work of studio jewelers.

Of her jewelry education Ananda says, "Although I've taken some basic jewelry courses, the majority of my experience has been learning in my own studio. I think the fact that I am largely self-taught has helped me to develop my own style".
